You will be drift fishing over oyster reefs out of the boat. There are certain times of the year and certain places to wade. If you prefer to wade let us know prior to getting your fishing license. There is a $20.00 non-resident per day fishing license for wading.

When the wind is calm, the water is clear and the fish are BITING LIKE CRAZY.

A medium/light bait casting or spinning rod and reel will work best when strung with 12/15 pound mono line. We use Fishing Tackle Unlimited rods and SHIMANO reels strung with BERKLEY big game line. We have found that this is the BEST equipment on the market. We will have equipment available for rent for $10.00 for your trip if needed.

We normally leave at first light and return 8 hours later (with plenty of fish).

Bring loose fitting clothes, sun glasses, sun screen, rain gear, camera and a cooler to bring your fish home with you.

If you have a favorite lure bring it along. Your trip includes all of the artificial lures and your captain will have them on the boat for you. We use Mirrolure top water baits as well as Hackberry Hustler, DOA and Mister Twister soft plastic baits.

We will be running 12 boats during the week and 18/20 boats on the weekends. They are mostly KENNER Center console boats and are 23′ feet long. All of our boats are U.S. Coast Guard inspected each year for your safety.

Our daily creel limits are very liberal here in Louisiana. You may keep 15 speckled trout over 12″ and 5 redfish over 16″ and one over 27” each day. Each fisherman is allowed two speckled trout over 25″ each day.

We have live shrimp year round. In most cases soft plastic work very well on Lake Calcasieu.
