CAJUN SHRIMP BREAD

A South Louisiana favorite featuring French bread loaded with shrimp, cheese, and a creamy Cajun filling. It’s easy to make, easy to eat, and always disappears fast.

Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 pound small Gulf shrimp, peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced celery
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven
Heat oven to 375°F. - Cook the filling
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook 4–5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute. - Add shrimp
Stir in shrimp and cook just until pink, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat. - Mix the filling
In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and green onions. Fold in the shrimp mixture.
- Prepare the bread
Slice French bread lengthwise and hollow out some of the center.
- Fill and bake
Spread shrimp mixture evenly into the bread. Place on a baking sheet and bake 15–20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
- Serve
Let cool for a few minutes, slice into pieces, and serve.
